First Grade - Me and My Shadow
First graders study shadows as part of their science curriculum. Students were asked to create images of themselves outside on a sunny day doing something they like to do. After the drawings were completed we then created shadows and fit them into a composition of the students choice.
Seventh Grade - All About Me Books
These All About Me books are labor intensive and require lots of thought to the composition of each page,and the overall flow of the book. Students were free to use any materials that they thought appropriate for the subject. Special attention to details and the elements of color and texture were suggested. Students were asked to create a book that reflected their lives by creating pages based on their families,interests, and must include a self - portrait.
Seventh Grade Clay Plaques
Seventh graders had the opportunity to work in clay creating a clay plaque that reflected their interests, hobbies etc. while developing their skills and craftsmanship with this truly unique material.
Sixth Grade Mask Collagraphs
A collagraph is a print a that is taken from a plate that is created with a variety of materials. Some of those materials can be cardboard, wire, strings and small thin wooden pieces. The plates are then inked and run through a press creating one of kind prints.
